Mari's childhood was pretty much perfect from the outside. At the age of three she stared in a baby food commercial, by 5 she was modeling clothes for department store catalogs, by 10 she was doing runway shows. Marielle has never been close to her family. Her mother has always pushed Mari too far forcing her to join beauty pageants as a child and to model as a teen. Mari has never loved the spot light and so she resents her mother for forcing her into it.She was forced to grow up too quickly, never allowed to eat sweets or she'd get fat, never having time to play outside. By the time Mari was a teen she was already one of the hottest model in the world, but she had never even had a boyfriend. When she was 17 Mari met Trevor, a photographer, he invited her to a party where she tried heroine for the first time. Mari woke up three days later with no memory of what happened. That was how the last year of Mari's childhood was spent. Traveling with Trevor, learning about photography and shooting heroine. Then one day Trevor didn't come home. After a few days Mari walked out of the hotel where she and Trevor were staying and checked herself into Cherry Hollow Institution.

Mari is shy and quiet, but clingy. She has very few friends but will attach herself to one person. She will do everything she can to please that person and fears loosing them. To the person who gets to know Mari she is kind and witty. She is giving and avoids confrontation. When a person rejects Mari she will become extremely depressed until she finds a new companion. If her companion is not around Mari will hide in a corner reading a book or stand of to the side and take photos of others. She'd rather observe than participate.
